Our story

We consider grassroots movements and farmers' organisations the engine of change in society. We support these movements through capacity building and facilitating knowledge-sharing, cooperation, and influencing policies. Our actions aim to make food production more sustainable, so farmers become more economically independent. We do this through agroecology.
For the global citizens that we all are, we raise awareness on the global context of agricultural issues and invide people to take action.
Solidagro works in a spirit of solidarity and equality. Therefore, we opt for cooperation based on mutual respect, exchange and dialogue.
About the sector of international solidarity*
International development cooperation should be seen as reparation for colonial injustices, not mere generosity. Former colonial powers must recognize past harms and provide financial commitments based on responsibility, not self-interest. At least part of the wealth taken from the Global South should be returned to support its development.
* The common term for our sector is "development cooperation", but this implies superiority and echoes colonial rhetoric. It aligns with neoliberal growth, fueling inequality and harming the planet. We prefer "international solidarity" to reject this hierarchy and its injustices.
